Crossroads Group Homes and Services, Inc. is a multi-faceted program designed to meet the individual needs of at-risk adolescents in our communities. We have been providing services since February 2000 and continue to be licensed and evaluated annually by the Department of Public Welfare of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Referrals will be accepted from Juvenile Probation Departments, Children and Youth Agencies, Court of Common Pleas Division, and voluntary entrustments (parent- guardian/ CYS/ school districts). Referrals for both boys and girls ages 10 to 18 can be accepted for placements. Court ordered delinquent and dependent youth, and voluntary entrustments in need of behavior modification who needs can be provided in a community based setting may be appropriate and accepted for this safe and structured environment. Admission assessments may include the following: Acquisition of case files and background information, interviews with the prospective resident and parent/ guardian, and internal case consultation. Geographical areas currently being served by Crossroads, Inc. include Mercer and surrounding counties located in both Western and Central Pennsylvania. Crossroads Group Homes and Services, Inc. does not discriminate in any way on the basis of admissions, the provisions of services, and the referrals of residents. All youth who are placed at Crossroads, Inc. will receive fair and consistent attention and services without regard to race, color, religious creed, disability, ancestry, natural origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, or limited English proficiency.

It is the intent of Crossroads, Inc. to present a comprehensive program that would be therapeutic and rehabilitative, while maintaining consistency, structure and accountability for each individual. Collectively, there are over fifty years of experience behind the design and implementation of the program. High standards are ever present. Inappropriate behaviors are confronted, consequences are earned, and the youth are redirected. Appropriate behaviors are reinforced and rewarded. This philosophy is supported by the use of external controls in the initial stages of the program while sustaining with internal controls at the completion of the program.

The system measures both positive and negative behaviors with the use of a variety of tools, daily and even hourly! All Crossroads’ Inc. staff will be trained to address problems that the youth may have that are associated with: Low self esteem, respecting authority, following rules and regulations, self- discipline, disruptive behaviors, truancy, developing healthy relationships, problem solving, coping skills, anger management, and accountability.
